Know your Rights when seeking shelter

We are getting prepared for the hurricane and we wanted to share important information to help keep you and your loved ones safe before and after the storm:

• You still have your rights!!!
• Florida hurricane shelter locations are accessible to everyone, regardless of immigration status. They are not authorized to ask for IDs for any reason.  
• ICE should NOT be operating during the hurricane as it is a state of emergency.
• Make sure you have a plan! Keep your documents safe and in a waterproof container. ESPECIALLY any sensitive documents (immigration documents, identification, etc.)
• If you experience blockage from a shelter or they are asking for your ID, please text or call the FLIC hotline at 1-888-600-5762.
